The Unconstitutional War /
Is Obama Breaking the Rules?
There has been a non-stop chatter in Washington about whether or not President Obama acted within his authority as commander-in-chief by sending U.S. military forces into Libya. Rep. Kucinich of Ohio has called for the President to be impeached. I’ve listened to a rack of Constitutional experts weigh in on the different sections of the 1973 War Powers Resolution, which defines the role of the president and the Congress when declaring war. The whole idea of even discussing war powers is a bit premature, since the U.S. has not officially declared war on Libya. But anyway, I thought I’d share with you guys a document that I came across—it’s called the War Powers Resolution! Who would’ve thought? Take a look at section 2(c) and tell me if the President was within his executive power.
