Stop the Press: Gingrich thinks poor people dont work. Newt for President, anyone? /
Forty-six million Americans are now considered ‘poor’—living below the nation’s poverty line. Most people are shocked by this statistic because America is one of the wealthiest countries on earth. After hearing those census stats, Newt Gingrich—the man running for the Republican nomination to challenge Barack Obama—made a speech and said that poor people have no habit of working. He believes that the only time poor people work is if they’re working on something illegal. Wow! This is what our potential president thinks about poor people. Okay, I get it! I follow politics, but this wasn’t a gaffe. This was actually a premeditated comment by Gingrich that exposed his elitist views when it comes to our nation’s poor population. Shame on this guy! Sound off in the comments, we have to know what ya’ll think.
How does a presidential candidate explain a comment like this?
