Xtina Covers Marie Claire, Makes No Apologies For Weight Gain, Tells Haters to Go to Hell /
Pop diva Christina Aguilera will appear on the cover of the latest issue of Marie Claire. I’d say, judging by the cover’s lead, Christina ‘s new, more voluptuous body is here to stay. Inside the issue, the singer was quoted saying:
"When I worked on Burlesque, I lost so much weight that I was too skinny. I don't weigh myself -- it's all about how I feel in my clothes. What looks good on one person might not look good on another body type"
"I've been through my highs, I've been through my lows; I've been through the gamut of all things in this business. Being too thin. Being bigger. I've been criticized for being on both sides of the scale."
"It's noise I block out automatically. I love my body. My boyfriend loves my body. My son is healthy and happy, so that's all that matters to me."
I can admit that I prefer Aguilera with a smaller frame, but my respect for her talent and ability to go against the grain supersede my opinions about her body type. Aguilera has always managed to do the opposite of what her other pop counterparts are doing, image-wise and musically. Honestly, I think that’s what keeps her relevant and relatable to so many people across the world. Your thoughts on Xtina’s new body?
