T2T Premiere: Amber Rose feat. Wiz Khalifa- 'Fame' /

I have nothing against Amber Rose, but I struggled with the idea of premiering this song on T2T. Nonetheless, I thought it’d be a good way to start a conversation:

I thought the recording industry was about talented people. As a student of the industry, it bothers me to see it moving in this direction—the direction of non-singers being able to lock no. 1 hits. There used to be a time in this industry where if you could carry a tune and you worked hard, you had a shot at being a pop star. Nowadays, it seems like all you have to do is take your clothes off and meet the right rapper. These so-called singers like Kim Kardashian (whom I happen to love), Ke$ha & Amber Rose really defame the character of the American recording industry because they’re talentless singers. We’ve made such a habit out of looking for the phattest ass or the prettiest face, instead of rewarding the hardest working. Aaliyah never really had a stand-out voice, but people respected her hustle—respected the fact that she worked hard, submitted demos, got turned down, wouldn’t give up and tried again. I can relate to somebody wanting something so bad and working dumb hard to get it. This new struggle—sleeping with enough dudes to get enough money to pay for plastic surgery, just so some producer can slap auto-tune over your track and call it a hit—nah, I can’t get down with that. But enjoy the track (if you can sit through it)

The High School Tour Ft. Wiz & Snoop /

Snoop Dog and Wiz Khalifa have teamed up together to hit the stage at the 9:30 Club in Washington, DC this Wednesday night. The High School Tour is a spinoff from the stoner comedy Mac & Devin Go To High School which stars both rappers and is set to be released on December 13.
In the movie, Wiz plays a senior in High School with valedictorian honors who is having trouble drafting a speech that lists his interests beyond academics. Snoop, however is the exact opposite. He plays a 15-year senior who has all the social graces that Wiz' character seems to lack minus the smarts. The pair somehow has a mere three weeks to learn each others respective traits in order to make it.
The soundtrack includes the upcoming single Young, Wild & Free and That Good.
