The Next Best Thing: Tony Lucca "Anchored" /

First of all, I have to say that even after the first episode of NBC's 'The Voice,' I am thoroughly impressed with the level of talent. I first discovered Tony Lucca last night on the show and I was floored by his rich, raspy voice. Moments after Lucca's audition aired, he gained about 100,000 new followers on Twitter. So I decided to do some research on him, and it turns out that Mr. Lucca is, in my opinion, the next best thing. Last night, he turned every coaches chair around, but ultimately going with Maroon 5 front man Adam Levine, passing up Christina Aguilera--his old colleague from The New Mickey Mouse Club.
The Voice premiered last night on NBC's following the Giants Super Bowl win. However, the audience of over 30 million became acquainted with the network's fantastic four because of their Betty White featured Super Bowl ad:

The Return of 'The Voice' /

Back by popular demand: Ceelo Green, Blake Shelton, Adam Levine and the legendary Christina Aguilera are only a month away from the premiere of The Voice 2012. On February 5th, after Super Bowl XLVI, NBC will premiere their hit singing competition show which features raw talent from all over the world. However, this season may be a tad bit different. Executive Producer, Matt Burnett revealed that this season will increase its teams from 8 singers per mentor to 12. Not only does that mean the mentors’ teams will grow, but time must also be extended just to get through the blind auditions phase of the competition. Although, I don’t mind because the Blind Auditions are rather entertaining.

If you never got a chance to tune into The Voice, it’s kind of similar to American Idol but BETTER! Much, much better. Last year, it was the highest rated 2010-2011 debut for viewers averaging about 12 million viewers. The show starts off in its attention grabbing blind audition phase where contestants showcase their talent while the coaches have their backs turned. The coaches (Aguilera, Green, Levine & Shelton) then choose their team whom they begin to mentor. From there, the contestants will go into the battle rounds before moving on to the live episodes, when the remaining singers will transition to solo performances and America will get the chance to weigh in with votes.

Make sure you tune in this season. It’s right after the Super Bowl, you cannot miss it! I guarantee you’ll be hooked. Check out the promo video below:
