Lil' Wayne feat. Bruno Mars - "Mirror" (Official Music Video) /

Honestly, I've been really impressed with Lil' Wayne's music lately--that's good, because for a couple of years, he had me completely lost. I can appreciate his ability to think outside the box, musically and go left-field with his videos. #Toast2that

Lil Wayne Launches Clothing Line : TRUKFIT /

Lil Wayne has taken his skateboard hobby to the next level! He's recently been traveling cross- country, unveiling his new clothing line, Trufkit, which stands for "The Reason You Kill For It." The name of his line initially threw me off until I understood the full meaning of the acronym. It's so.. "Wayne"! I'm just happy his line didn't include his famous "too-tight for any man" jeggings (LOL). No seriously, I love the positive message behind the acronym (assuming he doesn't mean 'kill' literally) which I think is important, considering his influence on our youth. Get into the promo video & photos below. The models were in really cool metallic silver body paint, TRUKFIT caps, t-shirts, accessories and even Beats by Dre headphones. I thought they looked cool! Check out more photos and the video after the jump:

For all you skater boys, you can purchase the Young Money CEO's line of caps and t-shirts at Zumiez locations nationwide, and also KarmaLoop’s online retail store. Click here.

2011 BET Awards: Kevin Hart Hosts, Chris Brown Leads And Trina Gets Snubbed /

So, early in the A.M., a press release came blasting through my Blackberry and I was pleasantly surprised at what I saw--BET's biggest night would be hosted by America's funny man, Kevin Hart. The list of this year's BET Award nominees definitely has its highs, but unfortunately there are an equal number of lows. We were happy to see that Chris Brown led the pack of nominees with a whopping six nominations, including Best Male R&B and Video of the Year. After a rocky two years, we're happy to see Brown back on top. Following Chris Brown, is Lil' Wayne with an impressive five nominations (no qualms with that), while Kanye West, Drake and Rihanna pull up his rear with four nods each. Despite the loss of one of their members (M-Bone was gunned down earlier this week), the CaliSwag boys are nominated in the category for Best Group.

Now, here is where things get a little sticky-- R&B diva Beyonce is nominated in the category for Best Female R&B, even though she hasn't released an album since 2009's I AM ... Sasha Fierce. Mind you, this is the same artist who, along with husband Jay-Z, refused to attend last year's award ceremony because of their objection to Chris Brown's invite. It seems like BET is courting the Carters at the expense of other talented artists whom otherwise would have been nominated (Keyshia Cole). Let's just see if hip hop's royal couple grace the red carpet this year ...

Then there is the category of Best Female Hip Hop-- no shade, but I know BET must be furious at themselves for replacing hip hop crooner, Trina with Lola Monroe--a video girl turned rapper. Immediately following the release of the nominees, Trina took to her twitter--tweeting "F**K BET." Besides the occassional HUH?'s, this year's list of nominees is impressive--we can’t wait until the show airs.

The BET Awards will air on BET, Sunday, June 26

Toya Carter: 'Much More Than Weezy's Baby Mother' /

In a recent interview with VIBE MAGAZINE, rapper Lil Wayne's ex-wife Toya Carter goes on to  explain why she has become fustrated with people referring to her as "his baby mother" and claims that she wants to create a name for herself!  Although she may own a last name worth millions, Toya has struggled to come from behind Weezy's shadow over the many years.

Was it difficult because you don’t want to keep connecting yourself to Wayne?
That situation is so hard. People feel like I’m going to always be connected to Wayne because that’s how I was introduced into the spotlight, but I feel like I’m much more than just his baby mama. It’s just crazy because everything I try to better myself it’s always “That’s just Wayne’s baby mama.” I open my store and people come to the store and it’s “That’s Wayne’s baby mama’s store” or I do my own show and it’s “Wayne’s baby mama got her own show now” or I write a book and it’s “Oh it’s a tell-all about Wayne,” so I feel like I can’t dodge that situation. I can see if I was sitting around waiting for Wayne to make things happen for me, but I’m making things happen for myself and I still get that stereotype. But I won’t let that stop me from doing me, but it does bother me sometimes because I can’t help who I fell in love with and had a kid by.

By the looks of things, Toya is already on the rise with her new book Priceless Inspiration & starring in her own reality show on BET.  You go girl, I'll have a toast to that & much success!

Drake Sets The Record Straight For D.C. Fans /

Drake took to the stage at the Verizon Center in Washington, D.C., to squash the recent rumors about him leaving Young Money. In a surprise appearance, Drake told the crowd and his boss, Lil' Wayne, that he wants "this sh** forever," seemingly desperate to diffuse the gossip. Both rappers are extraordinary artists-- Drake, storming the game and the charts within the last two years, and Lil' Wayne, a legend in his own right-- however, there was something very father and son about the scenario ... quite strange.
Check out the video. How many of ya'll was there?
