Is Bey Trying to Be Funny? The Pop Star Announces Not "4" but 3 U.S. Concert Dates /

beyonce 2012 Shes Back: Beyonce Announces Comeback Concerts

A few days ago, Beyonce's people announced that she would be returning to the stage just several months after giving birth to her daughter Blue Ivy. The singer will be hitting New Jersey's Revel Resort stage on three different nights: May 25, 26 & 27. Tickets for the concert go on sale April 6. Click here for details. Now, even though most Beyonce fans are excited to see the star back on stage, some are livid that the singer is returning with only a three-date tour. Hey, you can never please everyone at the same time. Sure Bey knows that by now.

Michelle Obama Hits Up Lettermen then heads to Fundraiser In Tribeca /

Like always, Michelle Obama is standing by her man. Yesterday, the first lady stopped by David Letterman to record an episode of the Late Night Show, to be aired later in the week. While I don't expect any hardcore political smackdowns from the first lady, it was interesting to watch her take a swing at Congress on behalf of her husband. Take a look!

NEW YORK, NY - MARCH 19: First Lady Michelle Obama leaves 'Late Show with David Letterman' at Ed Sullivan Theater on March 19, 2012 in New York City.
Immediately following her stint with Lettermen, Mrs. Obama was photographed heading to Tribeca, New York where she met up with A-list celebrities like Whoopi Goldberg, Robert DeNiero, Beyonce Knowles and Ben Stiller for an Obama re-election fundraiser. The first lady showed up to the event around 9 p.m. in a stunning black and silver, sleeveless gown.

Other guests included Lauren Santo Domingo and the infamous Vogue Editor-in-Chief Anna Wintour. Beyonce showed up with her mother and mother-in-law.

Etta James ---The Original Bad Girl Of Blues (T2T Tribute) /

This past weekend, it was confirmed that the original bad girl of the blues, Etta James had gone home to glory. Many people know Etta because of Beyonce’s portrayal of her in Cadillac Records. But, I was introduced to Ms. James about a decade ago, when Christina Aguilera took the stage at a CBS Christmas special. Christina belted out one of James’ most popular hits—At Last. But before the performance, she gave an emotional speech about how much Etta meant to her and her career. After that, I just had to know who this woman was (and hear her version of the song).

Two of my favorite Etta James renditions from two of the best vocalist of our generation!

Beyonce - All I Could Do Is Cry

Xtina's got the power of Etta & Bey has the perfection of riffs and runs that make her unmatchable!

Is Beyonce Ready to Give Birth!? /

As I started my commute on this blissful morning, I turned on the radio to hear that Beyonce MAY be giving birth today! YES, It is rumored that Bey has booked an entire floor of the luxurious labor and delivery section inside New York City’s St. Luke Roosevelt Hospital. The very same hospital where Alicia Keys gave birth to her son Egypt. Has the time finally come? I remember it just like it were on yesterday, when Beyonce revealed one of the biggest surprises of 2011. Love on Top had just finished blaring through the speakers of the Los Angeles’ Nokia Theater--- Bey dropped her mic and unbuttoned her sequin blazer to reveal a tiny baby bump, which she rubbed while smiling from ear to ear. Her smile said it all! And of course Jay-Z looked speechless, like a proud papa-to-be. This has been a great year for Bey and it would be an even better one, with the birth of her new bundle of joy. I am anxiously awaiting the arrival of Ms. Brooklyn Carter! We will keep you all posted as the dets arrive!

"King B" Covers Jones Magazine Winter 2011/2012 /

I'm not quite sure how I feel about this cover shoot for Mrs. Knowles-Carter. At 7 months into her pregnancy, I was hoping to get more mommy-to-be photos. Nonetheless, Bey looks AMAZING in the high fashion inspired, Paris rooftop photo. The corset & boots really pull this look together. It’s Jones’ winter arts and entertainment issue, which features Bey on the inside pages, and will be coming to newsstands in New York on 12/15 and everywhere else on 12/20. I'll be sure to snatch an issue and post photos ASAP.

Who Did It Better? Theshay West Remakes Beyonce's Video, "Run the World" /

Last night, like many of you, we were patiently waiting for the premiere of Beyonce's highly anticipated video, Run The World (Girls). As we prowled the internet to see if maybe the video had leaked prior to its premiere on American Idol, one of our editors came across this HOT video shot by Theshay West Cinematography. Normally, the thought of someone attempting to rework Beyonce's choreography would make my stomach churn, but surprisingly the young lady in this video NAILED IT! Two of our editors thought the pseudo version topped the original. What do you think?

Here is Theshay West's version of the video. I don't know about ya'll, but the chic in this video killed it! She may be coming for the queen's crown ... You be the judge:

2011 BET Awards: Kevin Hart Hosts, Chris Brown Leads And Trina Gets Snubbed /

So, early in the A.M., a press release came blasting through my Blackberry and I was pleasantly surprised at what I saw--BET's biggest night would be hosted by America's funny man, Kevin Hart. The list of this year's BET Award nominees definitely has its highs, but unfortunately there are an equal number of lows. We were happy to see that Chris Brown led the pack of nominees with a whopping six nominations, including Best Male R&B and Video of the Year. After a rocky two years, we're happy to see Brown back on top. Following Chris Brown, is Lil' Wayne with an impressive five nominations (no qualms with that), while Kanye West, Drake and Rihanna pull up his rear with four nods each. Despite the loss of one of their members (M-Bone was gunned down earlier this week), the CaliSwag boys are nominated in the category for Best Group.

Now, here is where things get a little sticky-- R&B diva Beyonce is nominated in the category for Best Female R&B, even though she hasn't released an album since 2009's I AM ... Sasha Fierce. Mind you, this is the same artist who, along with husband Jay-Z, refused to attend last year's award ceremony because of their objection to Chris Brown's invite. It seems like BET is courting the Carters at the expense of other talented artists whom otherwise would have been nominated (Keyshia Cole). Let's just see if hip hop's royal couple grace the red carpet this year ...

Then there is the category of Best Female Hip Hop-- no shade, but I know BET must be furious at themselves for replacing hip hop crooner, Trina with Lola Monroe--a video girl turned rapper. Immediately following the release of the nominees, Trina took to her twitter--tweeting "F**K BET." Besides the occassional HUH?'s, this year's list of nominees is impressive--we can’t wait until the show airs.

The BET Awards will air on BET, Sunday, June 26

Prince Hands Out A Pretty Penny /

The legendary music icon dug into his purple purse and gave a hefty donation of $250,000 to a South Carolina community where his drummer, John Blackwell Jr., hails from.  Both Prince and Blackwell presented the check to an organziation that is apart of a movement to improve the educational and development outcomes of children living in distressed communities.

Recently, Beyonce, Solange & Idris Elba also opend up their wallets and totes to give back to those in need. Sharing is caring and like the saying goes, pay it forward. I'll definitly toast to that!

Beyonce Soon To Release 'groundbreaking' Album? /

Will Bey soon be gracing our airwaves with new music? Well, there has been plenty of rumors surfacing about Beyonce putting in BIG time in the studio. The Australian branch of Bey's record label just recently traveled to New York to listen to a few of her new tracks. The label's exec reveals to a newspaper, "...These songs, the best description I can give is groundbreaking; she's gone to another level."" Wow! Guess we'll have to patiently wait until June to see what Queen Bey has in store for us. Seems like it'll deserve far much more than just a toast!
