Michelle Obama Hits Up Lettermen then heads to Fundraiser In Tribeca /
Immediately following her stint with Lettermen, Mrs. Obama was photographed heading to Tribeca, New York where she met up with A-list celebrities like Whoopi Goldberg, Robert DeNiero, Beyonce Knowles and Ben Stiller for an Obama re-election fundraiser. The first lady showed up to the event around 9 p.m. in a stunning black and silver, sleeveless gown.
Other guests included Lauren Santo Domingo and the infamous Vogue Editor-in-Chief Anna Wintour. Beyonce showed up with her mother and mother-in-law.

Ann Romney: "I Don't Consider Myself Wealthy" (she could be your next first lady) /
Ann Romney says that being worth $200 million isn't considered wealthy-- okay, okay, okay, that's not really what she said, however it is the way it's being reported. I have to say that liberals have taken Ms. Romney's comments completely out of context. I believe it was a failed attempt to sound normal and un-rich--again, failed attempt. Do I feel sorry for the Romney campaign, for the beating that they're taking as a result of Ann's comment? Nope. Republicans did the same thing to Michelle Obama in 2008. Remember this comment?

Four years ago today, Senator Barack Obama stood in front of a packed audience to deliver his victory speech in Iowa. The then-senator bested Hillary Clinton during the 2008 Iowa caucus. What a nostalgic feeling to think back to that moment in history where it seemed the entire world had rallied behind Barack Obama. Today, many of us find ourselves questioning whether this president has delivered on all that he promised in 2008. Despite the political stalemate in Congress and Republicans’ attempts to clip him up at every angle, the president has, in fact, managed to accomplish everything that he imagined in his 2008 victory speech to Iowans. Politics, Protests & Scandals: 2011 In Review /
2011 has been a wild, wild year. We’ve watched protests break out all over the country, we’ve watched an eight-year war come to a quick and sudden end, and we also saw the most wanted man on earth (Bin Laden) captured and killed in an embarrassing raid in Pakistan. Unemployment in America went up, then it went down again, then it went back up and then came back down (wheeew). Next year is sure to be wild one, too! It’s an election year—over 100 new laws go into effect, unemployment seems to be going down and from the looks of the Republican field, Obama will still be our president. Before you welcome the new year, let’s take some time reflect on how crazy 2011 has been:

Rapper Common Brings First Lady Under Fire! /
Conservative media outlets (Fox News) were in overdrive today as news broke that first lady Michelle Obama would be hosting rapper Common, along with several other poets, at the White House for a celebration of American poetry. Fox News called Common “vile” as headlines like “First Lady to host rapper who talks of killing cops, burning Bush” splashed across their website. A republican-run blog even posted an excerpt from the rapper’s popular poem, Letter to the Law:
It’s nice to see that the White House is reaching out to all facets of American society. What most people don’t acknowledge is—rap music is a major part of our pop culture.
